The 3 Skills You Need to Start Your Own Progress Project

 We wanted to gift you the three most important skills we’ve learned from creating The Progress Project and teach you how you can easily use them to start your own & make progress on what matters most to you!


Learn how mastering these 3 skills can help you feel more purposeful, confident, joyful, creative and content in your everyday life and why we wish we’d learned these sooner! Click through for a blog recap.
  1. Learning to Trust Yourself

Teaches yourself that you’re reliable and can follow through on things.

Allows for you to set the goals you’ve always wanted because now you know you’ll do what you say you’ll do. 

Less second guessing + more confidence

Two quick tips on how you can work towards trusting yourself more:

  1. Try the 2 min challenge and track for a week. 

    1. Instead of taking a big chunk of time to work on something that’s important to you, just try to do it for 2 minutes each day and try to be as consistent as you can for a week.

      1. Example: Say you want to do yoga, but you keep putting it off each day, try the 2 min challenge! Just do yoga for only 2 minutes and track each time you do it! Doing this little 2 minute challenge with whatever it is you want to work on can be incredibly powerful in teaching yourself that you are reliable and can trust yourself!!

2. Managing Your Mindset

Why is this skill so important?..Because our thoughts control our actions!!!

This skill can help you with just about everything in your life!!

Notice we didn’t say control your mindset! This step is all about managing your mindset. Noticing what thoughts come up and choosing specific thoughts to focus on. When you can manage your mindset it really helps you feel emotionally aligned. This helps you true self, your best self, show up in the world more often, which allows you to perform at a higher level.

When we work on managing our mindset it clears away some of the drama that tries to stop our best self from showing up. By managing your mindset daily you’re able to make room for the spirit and do more of what matters most to you.

Three quick tips on how you can work towards managing your mindset

  1. Use Mantras! Creating a mantra that really speaks to you that you can use to replace an old, unhelpful thought can be so powerful. You can grab our FREE “Create Your Own Mantra” guide HERE. Kristin and I even use it on a daily basis as well!)

3. Using Self-Inquiry to Find Answers

This skill is all about relying on yourself to figure out the answers you need.

Don’t get us wrong, it’s great to research and get great advice from others, but there comes a point where you have to decide for yourself and using this tool of self-inquiry can help you make sure it’s right for you.

Whether you’re struggling on a project, not sure how to take the next step, confused about a relationship…using self-inquiry is what allows you to find the answers you truly need.

There are lots of different ways to use self-inquiry, so you’ll need to find the way that works best for you. For Kristin and I we LOVE using journaling as the tool to help us get the answers.

Whenever we’re stuck we remind ourselves to get out a notepad and pen and start writing. We start writing the questions we have and then write a little more and then the answers or at least potential ideas start coming to us.

Whether you believe in God giving you personal revelation or answers coming from within yourself, this can be such a powerful tool to help guide you through your Progress Projects.
