In today’s episode, Laura walks you through 5 simple ways you can go from feeling rushed, frantic, and busy to feeling more calm and focused WITHOUT taking anything off your to do list.

5 simple ways you can go from feeling rushed, frantic, and busy to feeling more calm and focused WITHOUT taking anything off your to do list.

1. Just notice (no need to do anything differently)

  • Just notice whenever you get distracted

  • Notice when you feel rushed

Just taking the time to be aware of how you’re feeling and whether that is serving you or not can make a big difference.

2. Do a 30 second check-in

This is just a time where you check in with yourself. You can take a few deep breaths in and out, relax your face and shoulders to help calm your body and mind whenever you’re feeling a little frantic.

3. Make a small change in your environment 

  • Calmer music in the car, change the brightness on your screen, etc. Anything that you can do without a lot of effort to make your environment a little calmer.

4. Use a mantra

Mantras are so great to help you make a subtle mindset shift throughout your day! You can grab our most downloaded Free Create Your Own Mantra Guide to help you get started on creating your customized mantra!

  • One of our favorite mantras to use when we’re feeling rushed is: “I have as much time as I need.”

5. Make a few moments intentional during your day

  • Make eye contact with a loved one.

  • Pretend that an ordinary moment in the day scene is so special that it’s being filmed so you can enjoy it now and later.

  • Try to be still and enjoy a simple moment during your day. It might end up being so good that you’ll want to write it down in your journal.


30 Second Exercise to Help Focus & Calm Your Mind

In the episode I walk you through this little exercise so you can enjoy this 30 second guided meditation. But here are the steps so you can try it now or try something similar.

This is just a time where you check in with yourself. You can take a few deep breaths in and out, relax your face and shoulders to help calm your body and mind whenever you’re feeling a little frantic.

“Wherever you are I just want you to sit up nice and tall and take a a deep breath in through your nose and sigh out the mouth. If it makes sense to close your eyes you can do that now.

Let’s take three more breaths. In through the nose out through the mouth. Now draw your attention to your face. Relax your efforts by relaxing your face, your forehead, your eyes, your jaw, even your tongue, and do a few head circles.Drop your shoulders so they’re away from your ears.

Now one more deep breath and let that settle. How does that feel?”

This short meditation is something you can easily try and that’s always available to you throughout your day.
