What is emotional alignment?

Emotional alignment: a general sense of contentment and well being, capability to handle ups and downs of life.

Basically it’s being able to honestly say, “I’M OKAY.”

Here’s how Kristin feels when she’s emotionally aligned:

When I’m in emotional alignment, I’m recognizing, appreciating, enjoying the good in my life. And I’m accepting and processing the bad without resistance. I feel capable of handling the daily stuff of life. I’m keeping up on the habits and rhythms that support emotional alignment. It’s not perfection but it feels like balance, focus, and confidence.

Think of it like finding balance in a yoga pose, like tree pose. It works when I’m softly focusing my vision on a point centered in front of me a bit of a distance away. Not forcing it, but focused. My posture is good, my muscles are strong, my mindset is confident and relaxed. I might wobble now and then, I might have to catch myself by putting my foot down for a second, but then I get back into position, back into balance.

Don’t forget…

Even with a list of things that help you stay in emotional alignment, the point is not necessarily doing the things. Instead, it’s more about the SHIFT back into emotional alignment. We can practice that shift anytime we’re not aligned. We can teach ourselves what it feels like and how to recognize when we’re aligned and when we’re not.

Trust that you know what it feels like to be in emotional alignment and that you know what you need to get back into it. You probably already know what you need. Each time you notice you’re not aligned, practice getting back into it a little sooner than last time.

And remember, it’s perfectly okay and right to not be emotionally aligned all the time! It’s all about finding our way back again and again.
